Installing vocal presets in FL Studio doesn’t need to be complicated. You don’t have to dig through random folders or guess where FL hides your preset files.

There’s one super easy method that works every time.

Quick answer

Browser → Presets → Mixer presets → right-click “Mixer presets” → Open → drag your .fst files in → load from the Mixer.

Video walkthrough

Step 1: Open the Browser in FL Studio

On the left side of your screen, open your Browser panel.

If it’s closed:

  • go to View → Browser, or
  • press Alt + F8

This is where presets, samples, and plugins show up.

Step 2: Navigate to “Mixer presets”

In the Browser, find:

Presets → Mixer presets

This is the folder FL Studio uses for .fst mixer preset files (including vocal chains).

Step 3: Right-click → “Open”

Right-click the Mixer presets folder and choose:

  • Open, or
  • Open in system (depending on your FL version)

FL will open the exact folder location on your computer — no guesswork.

Step 4: Drag and drop your vocal preset files

Drag your vocal preset files (usually .fst) into that folder.

You can add:

  • single preset files, or
  • a whole folder (recommended): “Vocal Magic”, “Artist Presets”, etc.

Once they’re in the folder, FL Studio should recognize them automatically (or after a restart).

Step 5: Load the preset in the Mixer

  1. Open the Mixer (F9)
  2. Select the mixer track you want your vocal chain on
  3. Click the small arrow on the right
  4. Go to Mixer presets → [Your folder] → [Your preset]
  5. Click it — your entire chain loads instantly

Troubleshooting (if presets don’t show up)

If you don’t see your presets:

  • restart FL Studio (refreshes the Browser)
  • confirm the files are actually .fst
  • make sure they aren’t still zipped
  • re-open the folder via Browser → right-click Mixer presets → Open to confirm you’re in the right location

The actual folder paths

The Browser method above is the best way — but if you want the manual paths:

Windows

macOS

Macintosh HD/Users/[Your Name]/Documents/Image-Line/FL Studio/Presets/Mixer presets/

Final thoughts

The most reliable install method is:

Right-click Mixer presets → Open → drag & drop .fst files → load from the Mixer.
